What I got from this section was religion and its impact. The major religions of the time were Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam. Christianity and islam had the idea of spreading and growing in both numbers and geography. In this section it also talks about that if you anted an era to be considered "classical", you would need to have a key seminal thinker such as Buddha or Jesus. Christianity or Catholicism is called the universal church. They leader of the faith is located in Rome and is called the Pope. Islam Began in seventh century Arabia and the figure head for this religion is Muhammad. Islam expanded for commerce and trade networking. There was a voluntary conversion but if you converted you wouldn't need to pay a special tax for non believers.
