Their were three slave trades gong on at the time, the spanish american save trade, the Brazilian/port slave trade, and the North American Slave trade.  All of these slaves were from African Decent and were primarily used for labor. in the Spanish American slave trade, there was a lot of single men used for labor, there was a lot of racial mixing, and life was very temporary. In the Brazilian/Port  slave trade, it was African Slaves used for labor, there was racial mixing, and life was very temporary. These two slave trades are very similar when it comes to the life of a slave. The North American slave trade was very different compared to the first two. Slaves were brought by families and were intended to stay forever. They were servants and there was very little mixing between whites and slaves.
