This section talked about the changes between eras. The Hunter Gather, Agricultural, and industrial. IN the Industrial era, Britain had a mass production of factories in cities A lot of the factories were powered by machines that used coal and some sort of combustion engine. With the rise of industrialism there was a separation of classes, High class, Middle class, and Low class. There started to became shop and factory owners and than there was the workers. High class people owned the factory while the middle class were the ones who ran it, and the low class were the labor workers who worked in the factory. Many of the workers had long hours and worked in harsh conditions while the high class reaped the profits from there products.

Both founders were brought up very different but had the same idea. Julie Billiart was born in a  small village and was poor, while Franciose was born to wealth and aristocracy. Franciose went to a boarding school at the age of two and Julie had a general education. Julie Billiart was bed ridden and had MS  while Franciose didn't have any major health issues. Julie taught from her bed and both were very active in society and weren't like most nun who are secluded from society.

In this section, it talks about the three revolutions, The American Revolution, the French Revolution, and the Haitian Revolution. The French revolution was composed of the Clergy, aristocrats and the rest of the french population. The rest of the French population were fed up with how they were being mistreated and they had enough. The American Revolution fed off of the French Revolution and then the Americans started revolting. These two revolution seemed to echoed off each other, iff one was doing something, than the other would soon follow. In the Haitian Revolution, the number of slaves massively outnumbered the total amount of free people, and they revolted. This Haitian revolution was the only slave revolution that got 100% freedom for all slaves in history.

What I got from this section was religion and its impact. The major religions of the time were Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam. Christianity and islam had the idea of spreading and growing in both numbers and geography. In this section it also talks about that if you anted an era to be considered "classical", you would need to have a key seminal thinker such as Buddha or Jesus. Christianity or Catholicism is called the universal church. They leader of the faith is located in Rome and is called the Pope. Islam Began in seventh century Arabia and the figure head for this religion is Muhammad. Islam expanded for commerce and trade networking. There was a voluntary conversion but if you converted you wouldn't need to pay a special tax for non believers.

Their were three slave trades gong on at the time, the spanish american save trade, the Brazilian/port slave trade, and the North American Slave trade.  All of these slaves were from African Decent and were primarily used for labor. in the Spanish American slave trade, there was a lot of single men used for labor, there was a lot of racial mixing, and life was very temporary. In the Brazilian/Port  slave trade, it was African Slaves used for labor, there was racial mixing, and life was very temporary. These two slave trades are very similar when it comes to the life of a slave. The North American slave trade was very different compared to the first two. Slaves were brought by families and were intended to stay forever. They were servants and there was very little mixing between whites and slaves.

The economy during this time was primarily a market based economy. There was a lot of commerce between Europe and Asia with the silk trade. Because of all the surging economic growth in southern China due to the silk trade, it resulted in the loss in over half of the countries forest land. While the deforestation of China was going underway, the spanish wanted a little bit of the action in expansion so they went to and found the Philippines. The spanish Used the Philippines as a place to repair their ships. There was a lot of expansion during this time. While the Spanish were taking over the Philippines, the British decided to expand to India to exploit and develop it under British rule.

The siberians and the native Americans have a similarity in the way they were disposed of and how they were disposed. Siberians were taken over by Russians who killed off a lot of Siberians, while the Native Americans were targeted by the Europeans as they settled in the Americas. Both these two native societies lost a large sum of their traditional hunting grounds and were given bare necessities to live. North Americans were taxed with "soft Gold' and fur while the Siberians were taxed with fur. The Native Americans were forced to convert to Christianity while the Siberians had an incentive to convert. The way these societies were treated was unfair and unjust.
